Botanic Garden

The Wellington Botanic Garden is one of Wellington's top tourist attractions.  It was established in 1868 and today covers 25 hectares.

The garden is comprised of several component gardens:

• Waterfall and Peach Garden
• Lady Norwood Rose Garden
• Herb Garden
• Fragrant Garden
• Discovery Garden
• Australian Garden

Wellington Botanic Garden

Visitors can access the garden from the city centre via the Wellington Cable Car.  They can then enjoy a pleasant down-hill walk through the various gardens.

Attractions within the park include the Cable Car Museum, Space Place and Kelburn Lookout.
