Cable Car Museum

The Cable Car Museum in Wellington New Zealand is located in the original "winding house".  The building was used for the cable car system beginning in 1902.

In addition to the original winding machine, this free museum contains two of the "grip cars" that were used on this historic railway .

The cable car system is still in operation in New Zealand's capital city.  Visitors can ride the cable car from downtown Wellington to the museum.
